Snows Timber is one of Britain’s foremost importers, distributors, and processors of high-quality timber products. They provide an extensive range of materials essential for constructing virtually anything you can imagine—from houses, fences, and decking to doors, window frames, retaining walls, conservatories, and even allotments.

With a rich history and deep-rooted expertise, Snows Timber has earned a stellar reputation for helping both trade professionals and the public find the right timber products for their projects.

The Challenge

Despite being a leader in the timber industry, Snows Timber faced growing competition in the years leading up to this project. While their expertise in wood was never in question, they recognised the need for a stronger marketing strategy to reach new customers and maintain their market position. To address this challenge, Snows Timber established three regional hubs covering most of the UK mainland, with the goal of driving increased sales in each area.

However, they needed assistance in developing a marketing plan that would effectively leverage these new hubs and resonate with both their existing and potential customers.

Our Solution

Our first step was to retain the strength of the existing Snows Timber brand while giving it a contemporary refresh. We made subtle adjustments to the logo to maintain a connection with the company’s proud history, while introducing a new font that modernised the look and feel of the brand’s communications.

To enhance the authenticity of their marketing, we decided to feature real people throughout the website and brochures. We created a comprehensive library of photographs, all taken on-site at Snows Timber locations, showcasing actual employees in their working environments. This approach not only increased the genuineness of the brand but also strengthened the connection between the company and its customers.

Next, we undertook a full refresh of the main brochure, website, and print advertising. The new design was clean, modern, and engaging, aimed at raising brand visibility and driving sales across the newly established regional hubs. The refreshed marketing materials were crafted to appeal to both trade professionals and the general public, ensuring broad market appeal.

The revitalised brand and marketing strategy successfully positioned Snows Timber to better compete in a crowded market. The use of real employees in marketing materials resonated well with customers, enhancing the company’s image as an authentic and trusted supplier. The refreshed brochure, website, and print advertising not only increased customer engagement but also contributed to a noticeable uplift in sales across the regional hubs.

Snows Timber now enjoys a stronger market presence and continues to build on its legacy of quality and expertise, with a brand that reflects both its heritage and its commitment to the future.
